do you ever have one of those months where every day is planned to the max before it even begins? for me, that is March. it might as well be April as far as I’m concerned, which wouldn’t bother me since that’s birthday monnnttthhhh!!! #basic. but really March will be one for the books. thankfully, i get to travel for work for multiple reasons and will BASICALLY be gone all month making me both happy i don’t own a dog (yet) and also VERY excited for warmth, check out some cool restaurants and visit my friends on the other side of the country. SEE YA, CHILLY NYC.
off i go, LA -> San Diego -> Dallas then back to the city, just in time for the 3 weeks of Spring we get to experience before the blinding heat of summer sets in. traveling for work is something i personally enjoy luckily but, being a homebody, i do tend to crave home after being gone. so i’ve been marinating in the 7 days that i get to be at home this week and enjoying my neighborhood aka my apartment aka my sectional aka watching Black Mirror on repeat. (I MEAN CAN WE TALK ABOUT IT)
oh, so you ask, whats the best possible outfit for the laziest weekend of all time but you still want to be presentable in case that one guy you’ve been talking to wants to come over and you should probably have showered in the past couple days?
EASY. i live in the below outfit. like for real. i’ve slept in it before. don’t tell my mom.
it’s the simplest formula. oversized sweater + ripped jeans (i love the fray at the bottom, adds a little flair to it (you can find this exact pair here and a cheaper pair here), a patterned scarf and my favorite “throw on and go” shoes, the oxford mule. i could wear these literally every day!! best. errands. shoes. ever.
except these nikes but ya know.
major takeaway of all of this? there are 3 things you need with you at all times:
- a blanket scarf to hold in all the happiness and warmth from your bed at home while you’re away and also doubles as an actual blanket in the airplane cause like, why would i pay $15 for that crappy one they have? no.
- easy slip on shoes that arent crocs or birkenstocks but are just as easy and comfortable but people won’t ask where your van is parked by the river.
- and of course, coffee. even if from dunkin donuts.
i’ll be out of the city for the rest of the month but don’t worry, i have posts scheduled for you babes.
